Friends who know me are aware that I am a no sport type of person. Somehow I often proved them wrong. I guess..
First, I conquered mount KK last year. I 'was' a frequent trekker in local hills (before KK). Of course, the habit had stopped ever since I completed the mission : ) Then follow by this year, I participated SCB KL Marathon. Ambitious, I must say. I started training for 2 weeks, then defeated : ) Not because of I can't hold the thought but the problem is my ankle.
I sprained it >10 years ago during college time. I couldn’t walk the moment I cracked it. Then went for the tit ta, which I suspect that’s where I got the fracture when the sifu twisted it...
I was on Chinese med wrapped around the ankle for a week or two. From then on my ankle like detached from my feet, and sometimes I have minor pain too. Until recently since I joined KL marathon, I went jogging for training. Very average, about 3 times a week. But 2 weeks later I suffer the excruciating pain from my right ankle and couldn’t walk properly for 5 days.
That’s where I go for first doctor, in Damansara Specialist for a very famous orthopedic Doctor Gan. With just few pull and touch, he sent me to full MRI scan and x-ray (normally just x-ray will do).
As a result, I got a piece of cracked in the ankle’s bone, 2 tears, internal bruises between the join, and my ankle is shifted aside. The doctor asked me to run some physio exercise by myself at home. If no improvement in 1 month time, then I have to undergo for surgery which take 6 weeks to walk, and 6 month to fully recover
I was frighten to hell, therefore look for second opinion from KL sports medical center – Dr Low. Dr Low told me normally this can be healed by running physio and the recovery rate is 90%. But the physio is 2 times a week, and continue for 6 weeks.
For me, it is worth to try as long as there is no need for surgery. Well, it is tomorrow then. So eager to try now... : )
