If you have registered and verified your account in Paypal before, then I am quite sure you will be familiar with this. During the verification, Paypal will charge a small amount to your credit card and use the approval code as the verification code.
Same if you would like to verify the US bank account in Paypal. However Paypal will charge not 1 but 2 small transactions in the statement and you are required to enter it in the verification page. I have did that but I am not sure if they will pay me back, but according to first time experience when I verify my credit card, they did refunded. Hopefully this time too..
